About the Author

Engineer first. Storyteller always.

Pooja Thakkar Singh is a mechanical engineer, storyteller, STEM advocate, and lifelong believer in the power of curiosity. As the daughter of Indian immigrants, Pooja grew up learning the value of hard work, resilience, education, and helping others. From a young age, she was fascinated by how things worked and dreamed of using engineering to make a difference in the world.

Throughout her life, Pooja has overcome significant personal and health challenges, experiences that shaped her passion for inspiring the next generation to believe in themselves no matter what obstacles they face. Today, she works to expand access to STEM education and create opportunities for young people — especially girls and underrepresented communities — to see themselves as future innovators, creators, and leaders.

When she’s not creating stories, Pooja enjoys sharing her story with others, celebrating her Indian culture and heritage, spending time with family, and dreaming up new ideas to inspire young minds.

MEgan the Engineer is the series I wish I'd had as a kid. Every book takes one real mechanical concept and turns it into an afternoon adventure on Megan's block — accurate enough for an engineer, joyful enough for a bedtime read.

Why I write these books

I want every kid — especially the ones who don't see themselves in STEM yet — to know that curiosity is a superpower. Megan's stories are an invitation: ask the weird question, take the thing apart, build the wobbly prototype. That's how engineers are made.
